A Brief History of Slot Machines — From Casino Floors to Your Phone Screen
Slot machines have a remarkably rich and long history. The world's first slot machine is believed to have been created by Charles Fey in San Francisco around 1894–1895. Known as the "Liberty Bell", it featured three reels and five symbols — horseshoes, diamonds, spades, hearts, and the liberty bell. Every time all three bells lined up, the player received a coin prize. This simple concept laid the foundation for the millions of slot machines that exist today.
Decade after decade, slot design has evolved dramatically. In the 1970s, electromechanical slots began replacing purely mechanical machines. Then in the 1990s, the first video slots emerged, ushering in a new era with digital screens, moving animations, and multiple paylines. Today, online slots at p111 harness HTML5 technology that enables cinematic-quality graphics, immersive sound, and highly complex game mechanics — all running smoothly directly in your web browser with no software installation required.
This evolution goes far beyond surface-level changes. Modern slots at p111 come with features like Megaways™, which can generate up to 117,649 ways to win in a single spin, Cascading Reels that deliver consecutive wins within one spin, and multiplier systems that can soar to thousands of times your original reward. These are no longer the slots our grandparents knew — this is first-class digital entertainment.

Bonus Features in Slots — Understanding Free Spins, Wilds, Scatters, and More
One of the things that makes modern video slots so exciting is the variety of bonus features that can be triggered during play. At p111, every slot comes with detailed descriptions of each bonus feature so you'll never be left guessing. Here are some of the most common bonus features to know:
Wild Symbol is a special symbol that can substitute for any other symbol (except Scatter) to complete your winning combinations. There are regular Wilds, Expanding Wilds that fill an entire reel, and Sticky Wilds that stay in place for several subsequent spins.
Scatter Symbol typically triggers the free spins feature when three or more Scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels. During free spins, win multipliers are usually higher than in regular spins — making this the golden opportunity to land a big win at p111.
Bonus Buy is an exciting feature that is growing in popularity among p111 slot players. It lets you directly purchase access to the bonus round without waiting for Scatter symbols to appear naturally. Although it costs more, many experienced players prefer it because it fast-tracks access to the biggest win potential in a slot.
Selected Slots with the Highest RTP at p111
RTP, or Return to Player, is the percentage of total wagered money that is theoretically returned to players over the long term. The higher the RTP, the better it is for players statistically. | Slot Name | Provider | RTP | Volatility | Key Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mega Joker | NetEnt | 99.0% | High | Supermeter Mode |
| Blood Suckers | NetEnt | 98.0% | Low | Dracula Bonus |

| Sweet Bonanza | Pragmatic Play | 96.48% | High | Tumble, Scatter Pays |
| Book of Dead | Play'n GO | 96.21% | High | Free Spins Expanding |
Understanding Slot Volatility — Choose Based on Your Play Style
Besides RTP, volatility (or variance) is an important factor to understand before choosing a slot at p111. Volatility determines the frequency and size of wins you can expect during play.
Low Volatility Slots delivers wins more frequently but in smaller amounts. This suits players who prefer longer sessions with a stable balance. You won't often go through a long dry spell without a win, but don't expect large payouts to occur frequently.
High Volatility Slots delivers wins that are rare, but when they hit, the payouts can be massive — sometimes thousands of times your wager. This suits players willing to endure longer stretches without a win for the chance to land a big prize. Most jackpot slots and Megaways™ slots at p111 fall into this category.
Medium Volatility Slots offers a balance between both extremes. Moderate wins occur at a reasonable frequency, while larger payouts are also within reach. For new players at p111 still finding their preferred play style, medium volatility slots are a great starting point.

Smart Slot Strategies and Tips at p111
While slots are heavily reliant on luck and RNG, there are smart practices that can help you enjoy a more entertaining, longer-lasting, and more rewarding gaming experience at p111.
Manage Your Bankroll Wisely
Set a daily or weekly spending limit before you play and stick to it without exception. Divide your bankroll across multiple sessions so you always have funds to play with. p111 provides a deposit limit feature in your account settings to help you manage this.
Understand RTP and Volatility
Before choosing a slot, check its RTP value and volatility. For longer play sessions, go for a high-RTP slot with low volatility. If you're chasing big jackpots, a high-volatility slot with a bonus buy feature is the more suitable choice.
Make the Most of Your Bonus
Don't let the bonuses and free spins offered by p111 go to waste. Make use of the welcome bonus, weekly reload bonuses, and free spins to play longer without adding to your personal deposit.
Try the Demo Before Playing with Real Money
Almost all slots at p111 offer a free demo mode. Use it to familiarise yourself with the game mechanics, understand the bonus features, and decide whether the slot suits your playing style before wagering real money.
Don't Chase Your Losses
This is the most common trap slot players fall into. When you experience consecutive losses, do not raise your bets to quickly "recover" what you have lost. Take a short break, breathe, and return to the game with a calm and refreshed mindset.
Set a Session Time Limit
Engaging slots can make you lose track of time. Set a timer on your phone so every gaming session at p111 stays enjoyable and doesn't interfere with your other daily activities.
